With over 23 years of experience and over $1 billion in overall mortgage volume, Stephen Tetzner is a recognized leader in the mortgage industry. He is a founding partner of Homestar Mortgage, which he began with his father, Carl over 20 years ago. He was recently ranked the number one mortgage originator in Rhode Island, and is the 29th most successful loan producer nationwide. He was recognized by Top Agent Magazine as a Top Mortgage Professional in 2015. Steve is currently president of the RI Mortgage Bankers Association, and has served on its Board of Directors for seven years.
As chair of the RI Mortgage Bankers Association’s Legislative Committee, Steve was personally involved in the drafting of language regarding loan officer licensing, and was instrumental in creating the landmark predatory lending legislation. He is a regular contributor to Real Estate Insights on 920 WHJJ and is an active member of the Narragansett Lions Club. Steve studied Finance at the University of Rhode Island and is active in several charitable organizations, including the Toys for Tots Program and the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.

Adam Ethier started working at Homestar as a loan officer and mortgage originator in March 2005. Previously, he was a budget analyst and cost accountant for the finance division of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Rhode Island. He specializes in customizing mortgage solutions and working with first-time homebuyers to find options for low down payments. Adam is a licensed mortgage originator in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Florida. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Rhode Island and resides in Coventry. Adam is a member of the South Kingstown Chamber of Commerce, an affiliate member of the Newport County Board of Realtors and Kent-Washington County Association of Realtors and a committee member of the URI Alumni Association.
Dennis has over 31 years of experience in the mortgage industry and is excited to be putting that knowledge to work for the clients of Homestar Mortgage. He has worked with thousands of homeowners, many of whom are repeat customers, and has an in-depth knowledge of FHA, conventional, VA and Rhode Island Housing loans. Dennis is one of Rhode Island Housings top loan officer partners and is a repeat Five Star Mortgage Professional award winner. Angelo Soukas takes great pride in his reputation as an honest loan officer and making the process of obtaining a mortgage as simple as possible for consumers. Angelo came to Homestar 17 years ago, after spending seven years in the mortgage industry with the former Fleet Bank. Before becoming a loan officer for Homestar, he worked for the agency as a sales manager. Angelo has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island and likes to play golf. He resides in Wrentham, Mass.and has two boys, ages 14 and 11. Angelo works out of the Providence office.
Robert Spaight joined Homestar Mortgage as a senior loan officer after working in the industry for 12 years. He has extensive experience dealing with first-time homebuyers, corporate relocations, jumbo financing and the Federal Housing and Veterans administrations. Robert is a University of Rhode Island graduate, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science. He resides in Barrington with his wife and two children and in his free time he enjoys boating, skiing and playing softball.
Maria Zambarano started working as a loan officer 27 year ago and is continuing her career at Homestar Mortgage. She joined the company more than 6 years ago and specializes in working with first-time homebuyers and originating FHA 203K loans. She is licensed in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut. Maria has a bachelor’s degree in English and communications from the University of Rhode Island. She resides in Rehoboth, Mass., and enjoys gardening, golfing and upholstering furniture.
